Who you are booking with
Trips are organised by Specvista Technology Ltd, trading as Wayfellow. Contact: hello@specvista.com.
Booking and price
A trip costs GBP 8, paid when you book. Your place is confirmed when payment is received and you have accepted these terms and added a trusted contact. Travel to and from the start, food and drink are not included.
Cancellations
- If we cancel or move a trip, for example because of the weather, you get a full refund or a place on another trip.
- If you cancel more than 48 hours before the start, you get a full refund.
- If you cancel within 48 hours or do not turn up, there is no refund, and it counts against your reliability score.
Assumption of risk
Walking in the countryside carries risks that cannot be removed, including uneven, wet, muddy or icy ground, steep slopes, changeable weather, short winter daylight, livestock, roads and crossings, and being some distance from help. By joining a trip you accept that these risks exist and that you take part at your own risk.
You are responsible for judging whether a trip suits your fitness, health and experience, for telling the host before the start about any condition that may affect you on the day, and for bringing the kit on the trip's kit list. The host may refuse to take you if you are not suitably equipped or if they believe you are not fit to complete the route safely.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited under the law of England and Wales.
Minimum kit
- a waterproof jacket and a warm layer
- footwear with grip, suitable for mud
- water and food for the day
- a charged mobile phone
- in winter, a hat and gloves
On the day
Follow the host's instructions, stay with the group and complete the start and end check-ins. If you leave the walk early, tell the host before you go. Members aged 18 and over only.
Conduct
Treat other members, the people who live and work along the route, livestock and wildlife with respect, and follow the Countryside Code. We may remove anyone from a trip or from Wayfellow for harassment, abuse or behaviour that puts others at risk. Removals are reviewed within 24 hours.
Leaders and insurance
Public liability insurance will be in place before the first trip. Trips above easy grade will be led by a qualified leader. Mountain and winter-hills trips will only run with a qualified leader.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
